Family Health Clinic
The Family Health Clinic provides services for the whole family, including Pediatrics, General Family Practice, Gynecology, Breast Health and General Surgery.

Orthopaedic Services
Orthopaedic services are provided to our hospital by Great Plains Orthopaedic Group. Their office is located in the Family Health Clinic and appointments can be scheduled by calling 309-852-7700. Great Plains Orthopaedic Sureons are not employees or agents of Kewanee Hospital. They are independent medical practitioners who make independent judgments and have privileges to use the Hospital to treat patients.
About the Family Health Clinic
The Kewanee Hospital Family Health Clinic is conveniently located within the new state-of-the art Kewanee Hospital (opened in May 2008). The multi-specialty group offers an environment of care where specialized physicians and advanced practice nurses can easily diagnose and treat patients with immediate access to lab, imaging, surgery, and emergency departments. Our team offers comprehensive, high quality, cost-effective healthcare for the whole family, in every stage of life. The FHC was designed for patient comfort with 25 exam rooms located in pods by specialty. The FHC is located right next to the modern outpatient rehabilitation services gym. The providers and therapists are able to conveniently collaborate on care plans and track patients’ progress. Comments from visiting providers include, “this is the nicest hospital I have ever worked in. The working environment here is second to none.”
The FHC multi-specialty group, including a Family Practice Physician, General Surgeon, four Family Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and LPNs, focuses on outpatient care, health, wellness and patient education. Hospitalists, specializing in the care of hospitalized patients, collaborate with the FHC staff, providing 24/7 inpatient care. FHC patients benefit from comprehensive follow-up including reminders for wellness exams and testing.
The FHC is served by an electronic health record. Physicians and nurses document care on the patient’s chart on their laptop computers. Providers have full access to the Hospital electronic health record which enables them to follow up on diagnostic testing and stay connected to the patient’s hospital information via their computers. The electronic chart allows for greater communication, collaboration and teamwork by all members of the patient’s healthcare team.
Pediatric patients enjoy visiting the themed rooms, including a jungle room, complete with hippo exam table. The large waiting room, complete with a large-screen television, is adjacent to the Hospital’s gift shop for patients and family members to pass the time while waiting.
The FHC has all private care areas to help control the spread of infection and is staffed with a patient care staff specialized in a variety of areas including:
